We are seeking a talented individual to join our Business Development Team s hybrid role is based in California, Oregon, or Washington and requires working at least three days a week in the office.
In this role, you will be responsible for engaging all types of Business Development partners: retail insurance agencies, wholesalers, MGUs, MGAs, and aggregators. You will oversee a significant portfolio of potential accounts and ensure consistent agency management activity. To achieve this, you will utilize your network and insights from comprehensive research to engage with accounts in your specific region or industry.
Responsibilities- Develop the assigned territory through existing and prospective Business Development channels.
- Manage the existing client base to support organic growth through new business generation and renewal retention.
- Conduct frequent travel to visit new, existing, and prospective clients in the territory.
- Work closely with underwriting and Business Development management to ensure superior service for our clients and their insureds.
- Strategic planning for territory growth, expansion, and new product development.
- Serve as a client advocate and consultative advisor on company products and services.
- Collaborate with underwriting staff to jointly develop relationships.
- Engage with partners at industry events and serve as a valuable resource for the assigned territory.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, focusing on professional liability insurance.
- High energy, professional persistence, strong relationship building, sales aptitude, and self‑motivation.
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills with a results‑driven mindset.
- Proven track record of achieving desired outcomes.
- Appropriate licenses or the ability to obtain them within a short time frame.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the assigned territory and attend industry events.
- Experience as a wholesale broker.
- Experience in retail insurance.
- Proven experience managing and growing a book of business in the property and casualty insurance sector.
- Familiarity with working alongside underwriters.

- Competitive base salary range of $71,700 to $152,800, with performance‑based incentives.
