Fleet Mechanic - Night Shift

Responsibilities

• Help maintain and repair class 8 trucks and trailers, including hydraulic repair, brake work, electrical repairs, and welding.
• May perform service repairs in the field.
• May work on a wide variety of units from small fleet vehicles up to class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Complete all required paperwork.
• Must have own basic hand tools;
  Knife River provides job‑specific large tooling and has a replacement policy.
• Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Hours:

9:00 pm – 6:00 am (later start/finish time available). Sunday–Thursday or Monday–Friday available.

• Previous mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Welding and fabrication experience desirable.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam, and drug screen.
