Position: Instrumentation and Controls Electrical (SCADA) Technician

We are looking for our next Instrumentation and Controls Electrical (SCADA) Technician to join our team at Tualatin Valley Water District.

Position

You will be responsible for maintaining, testing, and upgrading TVWD’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system alongside a Second Instrumentation and Controls Electrical (SCADA) Technician and a lead. The data collection and reporting that you facilitate help staff effectively control water system operations, keeping water flowing smoothly to more than 222,800 people.

TVWD Priorities and Projects
  • TVWD’s new water source, the Willamette Water Supply System (WWSS), will be operational in 2026. TVWD is the managing agency responsible for the design, construction, and integration of future expansions into the current water system.
  • TVWD continually works on capital improvement projects aimed at improving the resiliency of our water system infrastructure.
  • TVWD is enhancing the customer experience with its new billing system.
System Operations Team Culture

This team manages our reservoirs, pump stations, and pressure‑regulating stations, ensuring reliable delivery to our customers. A diverse skillset and strong collaboration define the culture—team members are always willing to help each other. Beyond operating the system, the team is integrating the new Willamette Water Supply and upgrading the entire SCADA system.

Are You Our Ideal Candidate?
  • Associate degree or equivalent in industrial controls, instrumentation, computer science, computer programming, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience using programming languages, control software, industrial control programming, and related tools for industrial process control system design or similar.
  • Limited Energy Technician, Class B (LEB) electrician license or higher issued by the Oregon Building Codes Division (or the ability to obtain within the first six months of employment).
  • Accountable—takes pride and ownership of work successes and failures.
  • Dependable—maintains good attendance and is available for after‑hours calls and questions.
  • Safety‑driven.
  • Self‑starter—works independently and prioritizes tasks appropriately.
  • Team player—accepts direction from a supervisor or coworkers equally well.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $ – $ per year, depending on experience.
