Field Supervisor

The purpose of this job description is to outline the duties of a Field Supervisor at WCIS, LLC. Our intent is to encourage performance of the tasks necessary to make the best decisions and to provide superior supervision, leadership & delivery of installation and startup of plant, mill and manufacturing systems possible for our clients in the most cost-effective manner.

The Field Supervisor is responsible for managing field operations, supervising crews, ensuring project quality, safety, and efficiency, and overseeing the installation and startup of plant, mill, and manufacturing systems for WCIS, LLC clients.

• Manage assigned Leadmen and crews to ensure daily work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
• Ensure accurate recording of labor and equipment hours for each job and compare them to the project estimate.
• Review all contracts and supporting documents prior to approval.
• Monitor project progress to ensure work remains on schedule and within budget.
• Anticipate personnel, supply, and equipment needs and communicate them to the appropriate parties.
• Always maintain all work areas in a safe condition.
• Ensure job sites are cleaned and organized at the end of each day and upon project completion.
• Conduct regular spot checks to verify crew safety practices.
• Serve as the quality control lead for all assigned projects.
• Act as the onsite safety representative.
• Ensure company-provided tools and equipment are properly used, maintained, and cared for.
• Complete all work and change orders, including assigning final dollar amounts to each job.
• Inform management of any performance issues involving personnel.
• Notify the Project Manager of anticipated equipment, personnel, or material needs or changes at least 72 hours in advance for non-emergency situations.
• Provide technical assistance and support to other employees as needed.
• Submit all required paperwork (daily reports, time records, change orders, invoices, credit card receipts) each day to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure relevant team members are informed of project status and estimated completion dates to support timely invoice and follow-up.
• Protect and maintain all WCIS proprietary information and systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure proper shift handoff by providing a written list of priorities and outstanding tasks.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site always.
• Travel to various job sites is expected and required as part of this position.

• Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must have strong knowledge in welding, fabrication, layout, alignment of equipment, troubleshooting, install and removal of machinery and how a saw mill functions is a plus.
• Must be able to communicate with clients, WCIS office team, and all field crews.
• Must be able to report billing of time and material.
• Must be able to complete change orders, read instruction & safety manuals.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency with estimating is required.
• Must have experience in the installation of large commercial manufacturing equipment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must have full use of the body and all senses to be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to climb and balance on equipment or ladders. Must be able to move in tight spaces and bend and stoop around equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have good eye sight, depth perception and an accurate sense of hearing.
• Must have good planning, organizing and communication skills.
