Responsibilities- Implement the individual visitation agreement by meeting with the case worker, client, and caregiver.
- Gather information from case providers, clients, their family members, schools, and other resources to plan visits, including the schedule, location, supervision level, and safety plan.
- Assure the safety and wellbeing of children during visits and transportation.
- Transport children from substitute care placement to visitation sites, potentially inter‑ or intrastate, for foster care, guardianship, pre‑adoptive home visits, or returning children to the State.
- Support emotional needs of the child by explaining transportation purpose and answering questions.
- Keep accurate observations and supervision notes and document them in OR‑Kids.
- Prepare notes for court testimony; SSA notes may be subpoenaed and SSA may be required to testify at hearings.
- One year of experience working in a human services or behavioral health setting; OR
- An associate degree in any field; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Accurate documentation of client interactions, case notes, and service outcomes; verbal summaries to colleagues, supervisors, and external partners.
- Mentoring and engaging with families to identify and implement strategies for successful client engagement.
- Using trauma‑informed practices responsive to the child and family’s language, race, and culture.
- Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with community partners, including schools, mental health providers, healthcare organizations, and social service agencies.
Preference will be given to candidates bilingual in Spanish and English.
Working Conditions- Work schedule 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday PST; occasional overtime possible.
- Flexible schedule may be required; hours may vary including evenings and weekends.
- Position assigned to Store Front Office and community sites; office has cubicles, often interrupted work, and high noise levels.
- Regular phone use and electronic processing.
- Travel may be required for business needs or training.
- Transporting and supervising visitation may involve lifting young children and related items.
- Driving at various times and conditions; a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
- Good attendance pattern and use of paid leave to ensure coverage.
- Interaction with people who may have experienced trauma; stressful situations requiring quick decision‑making; fast‑paced environment with evolving policies.
- Repetitive motions, prolonged sitting, daily computer use.
- Criminal history and background check will be conducted for finalists; adverse findings may lead to disqualification.
- No visa sponsorship; I‑9 form required within three days of hire; E‑Verify used.
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
