Chemical Warehouse Acting Lead
This role oversees and actively participates in chemical handling and material movement within a semiconductor warehouse environment. You will lead by example on the floor, ensuring safe storage, accurate documentation, and efficient workflow while wearing appropriate cleanroom and chemical safety PPE. The position operates on a daytime schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and comfort working around chemicals for the majority of the shift.
Responsibilities
- Assist in daily warehouse operations while wearing a bunny suit and chemical safety personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow written procedures, daily flow charts, and verbal directions accurately to support rotations through different positions.
- Handle chemicals directly and move them safely throughout the warehouse as needed.
- Operate pallet jacks to move large materials through facility storage areas and loading docks.
- Correctly store chemicals and other materials in designated areas and ensure all labeling processes are followed.
- Apply First In First Out (FIFO) practices by monitoring labels and expiration dates to manage stored materials.
- Maintain strict compliance with all safety guidelines and promptly report any concerns to supervisors.
- Complete all paperwork and manual documentation accurately for received, stored, and used materials.
- Communicate effectively within the team, including using pass-down notes to ensure smooth handoffs between shifts or tasks.
- Support inventory control activities, including loading, shipping and receiving, packing, picking, and RF scanner use.
- Help maintain cleanroom standards when required and uphold warehouse cleanliness and organization.
- Keep pace with workflow demands to support other departments and ensure timely material availability.
- Collaborate with peers and supervisors to divide and conquer tasks and meet operational goals.
- Use computers to record data, track inventory, and complete required documentation.
- Provide leadership in a warehouse setting, drawing on prior lead or management experience to guide team members and support process adherence.
Essential Skills
- Prior lead or management experience in a warehouse environment.
- Hands-on material handling experience, including chemical handling in a warehouse or logistics role.
- Proven ability to follow strict processes, written procedures, and daily flow charts accurately.
- Strong team orientation and ability to communicate effectively within a team, including using pass-down notes.
- Understanding and practical application of First In First Out (FIFO) processes for stored materials and expiration dates.
- Comfort working with and around chemicals for the entire shift while wearing required safety PPE.
- Ability to walk, lift, and move materials for the majority of the shift.
- Experience in logistics, inventory, and warehouse operations such as shipping and receiving, loading, packing, picking, and inventory control.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and work safely in loading dock and storage areas.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete documentation and data entry for received and used materials.
- Strong attention to detail for manual documentation and labeling processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and coordinate tasks with peers and supervisors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in or around clean rooms within a manufacturing or semiconductor environment.
- Familiarity with forklift operation and RF scanners in warehouse settings.
- Experience in chemical handling or logistics roles involving hazardous materials.
- Ability to maintain composure and focus in a fast-paced environment while meeting workflow demands.
- Successful completion of reference checks with previous leads or supervisors.
- Comfort wearing cleanroom suits, safety-approved shoes, and other PPE for extended periods.

Work Environment
The role is based in a semiconductor manufacturing facility that features clean rooms and specialized chemical storage areas. Most work occurs in the loading dock and chemical storage zones, with occasional time in cleanroom-adjacent areas. Hazardous materials are present throughout the facility, and employees must consistently follow safety guidelines and wear all required PPE, including bunny suits, cleanroom suits, and safety-approved shoes.
