We are accepting resumes for future project work in CDM Smith's Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group. OverviewCDM Smith's Construction Engineering and Inspection team inspects and monitors construction activities at field sites. Work is performed under direct supervision of higher level inspectors and engineers. This role requires knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction; reading and interpreting construction plans, contract provisions, and specifications; and effective communication.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials, and other issues related to project construction under direct supervision.
- Determine the acceptability of day-to-day contractor work. Review and recommend acceptance or rejection of daily reports, inspect contractor quality control procedures and material testing, and verify conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and procedures.
- Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measure quantities of materials placed. May perform sampling and/or in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt pavement.
- High School diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. 0 years experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency depends on duties and project demands. Equivalent related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

- Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written). Basic arithmetic. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn new computer or mobile applications.
