Librarian (Part‑Time Faculty Pool)

Fresno City College – West Fresno Center, Fresno, CA

• Provide on‑demand reference and extended research services to students.
• Conduct bibliographic instruction in a classroom setting.
• Collaborate with faculty to raise awareness of library resources, develop Library Guides and Open Educational Resources (OER).
• Promote library resources to faculty, students, and campus groups.
• Collaborate with other librarians to establish library policies and procedures, develop budget proposals, and oversee collection development and maintenance.
• Plan and implement the college's information competency goals.
• Design and teach library research skills and technology courses, workshops, and online tutorials.
• Utilize Canvas and other online platforms to teach and communicate with students.
• Provide services in a variety of settings and times, including evenings, weekends, online or off‑campus.
• Communicate effectively with students and staff and maintain working relationships.
• Fulfill duties required by Administrative Regulation 7122 and other assigned tasks.

• Master’s in Library Science, Library and Information Science, or an equivalent credential.
• Valid California Community College Library Credential, or equivalency.
• Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students (cultural, socioeconomic, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity).

• Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all responsibilities.
• Recent experience working with racially minoritized students (African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American).
• Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to more effectively engage minoritized students.
• Proficiency in computers and educational technologies for instruction and student support.
• Strong communication skills with students and staff.
• Knowledge of the community‑college mission and goals.

• New hires placed on step one (1) of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
• Salary based on education and experience as outlined in the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Classifications.
• Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
