Qualifications- Valid West Virginia Certification 6-8 (Education Administration preferred)
- Masters' Degree preferred
- Demonstrated leadership quality
- Minimum of 10 years secondary teaching experience preferred
- Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely with correct grammar and spelling
- Ability to effectively deal with parents and students
- Ability to make sound, rational decisions
- Ability to utilize current technology for attendance record keeping
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs, laws, and procedures regarding student management
- Ability to assist with attendance reporting, referral and action procedures
- Currently employed full time at the middle school
- Any combination of training and experience which would lead to successful employment as a Dean of Students
- Assist staff with student management processes.
- Participate in conferences with students/parents/teachers and others regarding student learning.
- Confer with parents and make home visits as needed.
- Aid parents, faculty and student groups as requested in advising educational and related activities and objectives.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the principal.
- Collaborate with administration and faculty about student learning and achievement.
- Knowledge and understanding of West Virginia Next Generation Core Content Standards.
