In accordance with §18A-5-8 (2)(A), once the instructional term begins, those certified as ECCAT or autism mentors and/or one‑on‑one aides are not permitted to transfer to another aide/autism mentor position until the next instructional term (year) begins. §18A-5-8 (f) indicates that an aide and any other service employee may transfer to another position of employment one time only during any one half of a school term (semester) unless approved by the superintendent (designee).

During the first year of employment as an aide or any other service classification, a service employee may not transfer to another position of employment during the first one‑half school term (semester) unless approved by the county superintendent. Aides not certified as autism mentors or one‑on‑one aides will be permitted to transfer only one time per semester. This does NOT prohibit aides or all other service employees from applying for positions of interest, it simply means successful applicants will be transferred only when permitted by code.

Minimum requirement is ECCAT certification. In the event that no applicant fully meets the requirements of ECCAT, the positions will be filled with the most senior person who holds an Aide III/IV classification and who is willing to obtain ECCAT credentials. All documentation must be on file at the time of bidding.
