Base Salary: $45,375 with a bachelor's degree. Commensurate with experience and education level according to Monroe County Teacher Salary Schedule, plus a benefits package equal to approximately 35 % of direct compensation.
Job SummarySelf‑contained teacher responsible for providing appropriate instruction to Pre‑K/Head Start students and ensuring they meet learning objectives and state standards.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction and support to Pre‑K/Head Start students to meet learning objectives and state standards.
- Implement Head Start/Pre‑K 3‑ and 4‑year‑old education activities.
- Observe, record and evaluate each child’s growth and development to plan individualized activities.
- Conduct at least two teacher home visits per year with each student.
- Supervise classroom aides, parents, and volunteers.
- Attend workshops, trainings, conferences, and in‑services for staff development.
- Prepare required reports and comply with Head Start regulations, Policy 2525, and Policy 2419.
- Plan and implement WV College and Career Readiness Standards.
- Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs and technology skills.
- Plan and implement team teaching as appropriate.
- State and govern individual student achievement.
- Plan and implement designated co‑curricular activities such as fairs, awards, and field trips.
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents/guardians, and peers.
- Support additional programs designated by the Principal or Director of Head Start.
- Provide supervisory and other duties as assigned by the Principal or Early Head Start Director.
- Valid teaching certificate licencing for Pre‑K/Special Education, per WV Code §18‑A‑3‑2.
- Preference given to individuals with training and experience in Pre‑School Programs.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check in accordance with WV Code §18‑5‑15c and/or §18‑A‑3‑10.
- Met qualifications outlined in WV Code §18‑A‑3‑2a.
