Salary:
In accordance with the Hancock County Schools salary schedule for professionals, commensurate with experience and degree level.
Evaluation:
Performance in this position will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent or her designee and in accordance with WV State Code § l SA-2-12, State Board Policy 5310.
Job Description
Under general direction and is responsible for the educational program within his/her classroom and performance and work as required by the building principal.
QualificationsMust hold a valid certificate for the particular position in which he/she is assuming from the State Department of Education for West Virginia.
Functions and Responsibilities- Provide the attention needed for each student to achieve the highest possible potential.
- Record and report achievement fairly and accurately, regardless of student attitude, personality, or conduct.
- Act professionally in dealing with superiors, co‑workers, parents, and students.
- Responsible for all reporting required by his/her immediate supervisor.
- Work under the supervision of the principal in duties related to general supervision of hall duty, bus duty, lunch duty, and other supervisory related jobs necessary to the total operation of the school.
- Perform other obligations determined by the building principal necessary to the proper operation of the school.
- Implement the program of study.
- Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.
- Utilize instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time on task.
- Monitor and report student progress toward learning outcomes.
- Maintain and upgrade professional skills and teaching techniques.
- Promote and maintain positive pupil‑teacher‑parent relationships.
- Maintain professional work habits and attitudes and a professional appearance.
- Incorporate differentiated instruction.
- Co‑teach when applicable.
- Implement Multi‑Tiered System of Support (MTSS) within the school/classroom.
- Integrate technology within the school/classroom.
