Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the educational program within the classroom and perform duties as required by the building principal.
  • Provide each student with individualized attention to achieve their highest potential.
  • Record and report student achievement accurately, following school administration policy.
  • Maintain professional conduct with superiors, co‑workers, parents, and students.
  • Generate all required reporting to the immediate supervisor.
  • Perform supervisory duties related to hall duty, bus duty, lunch duty, and other necessary school operations.
  • Implement the classroom program of study.
  • Create a learning‑conducive climate.
  • Utilize instructional management systems to enhance student learning and maximize time on task.
  • Monitor and report student progress toward learning outcomes.
  • Maintain and upgrade professional skills and teaching techniques.
  • Promote and maintain positive pupil‑teacher‑parent relationships.
  • Maintain professional work habits, attitude, and appearance.
  • Incorporate differentiated instruction.
  • Co‑teach when applicable.
  • Implement Multi‑Tiered System of Support (MTSS) within the school/classroom.
  • Integrate technology within the classroom.
Qualifications
  • Valid teacher certification for the assigned grade level and subject from the West Virginia Department of Education.
  • Completion of a recognized teacher preparation program.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the responsibilities listed above.
