• WV Professional Teaching Certificate with endorsements in one or more areas of special education to include autism and gifted
• Masters Degree in Special Education
• Minimum of ten (10) years successful teaching experience to include special education
• Education administrative experience preferred
• Experience in development of Individual Education Programs (IEP) on the WVEIS online system

• Provide gifted instruction to identified students per their IEP
• Case management for students identified as gifted or exceptionally gifted
• Assist with the evaluation process for students referred for special education services
• Assist schools with implementing specially designed instruction in integrated classrooms
• Assist schools with secondary transition planning and services for students with disabilities
• Assist schools with implementing strategies to increase the graduation rate of students with disabilities
• Monitor students with disabilities discipline and oversee the disciplinary action review and manifestation determination review processes
• Participate in school Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) teams to ensure students with disabilities have been provided school wide PBIS system of supports
• Review IEP documentation and provide corrective feedback to school staff
• Assist in the monitoring of compliance for the district's special education program
• Assist in scheduling special education related meetings and participate when necessary
• Support new special education staff by providing training as applicable
• Assist schools with the preparation for students taking the alternate summative assessment
• Support district and school improvement efforts applicable to special education
• Assist schools in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports ensuring compliance with Policy 2419
• Perform other duties as assigned

SALARY:
According to Wirt County Schools Salary Schedule ($8,800 Supplement)
