Job Summary

Performs assigned scrub duties, assists with patient care, and ensures optimum quality patient care using a team approach. Performs services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of the Circulating RN. Reports to the Director of Surgical Services.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:

Graduate of a Program for Surgical Technology, Licensed Practical Nurse, or candidate with at least 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Required Skills:

Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days.

Minimum

Work Experience:

One year hospital experience as an Operating Room Technician with a service orientation and the ability to understand and react effectively to surgical needs for all patient populations.
