Surgical Tech, Medical Assistant
St. Mary's Medical Center is currently seeking a part time
Certified Surgical Tech. Under the supervision of a Staff Nurse or authorized designee, assists with the care of the patientin the Operating Room by scrubbing or circulating for most types of surgery. Assists the surgeon and anesthetist within the limits of a technician's education. May perform some housekeeping and preparation of supplies and instrumentation.
Education Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent who has completed an organized course of Operating Roominstruction recognized by St. Mary's Medical Center.
Certification:
Associate of Surgical Technologist (AST) or National Center of Certification Testing (NCCT)
Completion of certification required within 1yr of graduating instructional course.
Experience:
Previous Operating Room experience desirable.
Certifications/
Skills:
Manual dexterity. Must be extremely conscientious and have good physical and mental healthand stamina.
