Mission Hires is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead Women's & Children's Health services (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, Pediatrics, NICU) at a respected medical facility in Beckley, West Virginia. This strategic leader will drive clinical excellence, operational performance, staff development, and interdisciplinary collaboration while ensuring compliance with evidence-based standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Women's & Children's Health (L&D, Postpartum, Nursery, Pediatrics, NICU)
- Implement and uphold evidence-based standards and guidelines (ACOG, AWHONN, AAP)
- Oversee daily clinical operations, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff; foster continuous learning and professional growth
- Develop, manage, and optimize departmental budgets; conduct audits to ensure financial integrity
- Drive quality improvement initiatives aligned with organizational goals and patient outcome metrics
- Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and hospital leadership for coordinated, high-quality care
- Monitor patient satisfaction and implement initiatives to enhance experience and outcomes
- Ensure readiness for inspections, surveys, and accreditation activities
- Leverage technology and data to improve clinical workflows, staffing, and performance
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current West Virginia RN license or eligibility for WV licensure
- 5-7 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in Women's & Children's Health settings
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate effectively with surgeons and anesthesia professionals
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (or ability to obtain within an established timeframe)
- Demonstrated success driving quality improvement, patient safety, and operational excellence
- Strong budgeting, auditing, and resource management skills
- Excellent communication, coaching, and change management abilities
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements relevant to maternal-child health
