about our team
Raleigh General Hospital's Dialysis Unit provides inpatient hemodialysis services for hospitalized patients who require renal replacement therapy. The unit operates 24 hours a day, six days per week, with on-call coverage on Sundays, allowing the hospital to support patients with both acute and ongoing dialysis needs. Dialysis care is provided by Registered Nurses with specialized dialysis expertise.
How you'll contributeARegistered Nurse, RNwho excels in this role:
- Oversees treatment of medical and surgical patients needing dialysis procedures.
- Dialysis delivery of care includes assessment, problem identification, interventions and treatments, and evaluation of acutal, potential or perceived physical or psychological problems.
- Procedures or treatments provided in Dialysis include but are not limited to: dialysis admission assessment, medication, IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, pain control, O2 therapy, assisting physician with Quintons, dressing application and changes, Quinton Cath, declotting Quinton catheters, accessing AV shunt for diagnostic tests i.e. venograms, monitoring patient continually during Hemoreplacement treatment.
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
- Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS and BCLS are required within six months of hire.
- One year of experience preferred
- ASLS certification preferred
