Salesperson – Advance Auto Parts

Overview Entry level sales position that supports the DIY business and drives sales and service objectives. Role requires knowledge of store systems, basic automotive and parts knowledge, and ability to source from stores, hubs, and external suppliers. Part time or full time. Fleet safety certification preferred.

• Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
• Achieve personal sales goal and help store achieve its sales goals.
• Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
• Maintain store product and operational standards.
• Responsible for inventory processes including truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock, etc.

• Store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot.
• General stocking including truck stocking and back stock.
• Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.

• Basic driving and navigation ability.
• Ability to use delivery board system.
• Friendly communication.
• Ability to locate and stock parts.
• Safety knowledge and skills.
• Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
• Parts and automotive system knowledge skills.
• Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
• Expert at testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.

• Speak and write English (Spanish a plus).
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
• Use basic math accurately.
• Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

• 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.

Entry level store driver position that supports delivery of parts to commercial customers. Responsible for delivering parts and assisting with inventory processes in the store. Part time or full time. Must be fleet safety certified.

• Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
• Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
• Pick up returns and cores.
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyer.
• Daily collection of credit accounts.

• Store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot.
• General stocking including truck stocking and back stock.

• Basic driving and navigation ability.
• Ability to use delivery board system.
• Friendly communication.
• Ability to locate and stock parts.
• Safety knowledge and skills.
• Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment.

• Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
• Read and interpret safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions.
• Use basic math accurately.
• Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

• Automotive parts experience preferred.
• Certificates, licenses, registrations.
• Valid driver’s license and fleet safety certification.

The physical demands include walking or standing, talking, hearing, using hands and fingers to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Usually working inside; occasionally outside and exposed to weather while installing batteries and wiper blades. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise level usually moderate.
