Beginning pickups in Crummets Run area to Rt. 21, then south to County Line, turn around going north on Rt. 21 to Brushy Fork and on to Brandywine Elementary School, then to Pendleton County Middle/High School and Franklin Elementary School if needed.
COMPENSATIONSalary based on experience and education level per PCBOE salary schedule plus a competitive benefits package of roughly 35% of direct compensation. Benefits and Salaries information available.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENTSchool Year, 200 Day Contract for the and each year thereafter.
QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or equivalent
- Holds a valid bus operators' certificate.
- Pass an annual medical examination.
- Holds a first aid certificate.
- Applicants who have had unsatisfactory evaluations in the past year will not be considered. Applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible. Applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations will not be eligible. Applicants not currently employed who have been dismissed or whose contracts were non-renewed for cause by another school district are not eligible.

Director of Transportation and Transportation Supervisor
DUTIESOperates the school bus daily in a safe and efficient manner.
WORK HOURSAs assigned and determined by the Director of Transportation and Transportation Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIESThe bus operator shall be responsible for maintaining positive work habits, performing duties efficiently and productively, maintaining and/or upgrading skills; maintaining personal qualities appropriate for assigned job.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS- Work Habits:
- Maintains an accurate morning and evening time schedule.
- Prepares the bus for inspection by the state inspector.
- Has regular attendance.
- Submits required reports and records promptly and accurately.
- Is prompt in reporting mechanical defects for repair.
- Performs pre-trip inspection.
- Operates the bus in a safe and efficient manner and obeys all laws.
- Performance:
- Understands and complies with West Virginia Department of Education and Pendleton County Board of Education pupil transportation policies and regulations.
- Provides a safe environment for students on the bus through good student control and discipline.
- Fosters a climate which permits effective communications with parents and students.
- Sweeps and cleans the bus on a daily basis or more often if needed (wash the bus weekly weather permitting).
- Reports any accident or damage to the bus immediately.
- Training and
Experience:- Upgrades driving skills through county in-service programs.
- Participates in school bus rodeo sponsored by county, area, or region.
- Personal Qualities:
- Maintains a neat and acceptable appearance.
- Projects a positive general attitude.
- Takes pride in the care of the bus.
- Is dependable in the duties of a bus operator.
