An established and well-regarded accountancy practice in Bedford is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Auditor to join their growing team.

This is a key role working with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, offering the opportunity to lead audit assignments, work closely with clients, and support the development of junior staff.

You will take responsibility for planning and delivering audit assignments from start to completion, ensuring compliance with relevant standards while providing practical insight to clients.

• Planning and leading audit engagements across a diverse client base
• Preparing audit files, work papers, and completion reports
• Identifying risk areas and ensuring compliance with audit and accounting standards
• Presenting audit findings and recommendations to clients and senior management
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients throughout the audit process
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members
• Managing multiple assignments and meeting agreed deadlines

• ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong practical audit experience within an accountancy practice environment
• Good technical knowledge of audit and financial reporting standards
• Experience preparing audit documentation and completion reports
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Confidence working both independently and as part of a team

Experience with audit software and cloud accounting systems would be beneficial.
