Nurse Practitioner – Occupational Health/Urgent Care Part Time
We are seeking a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner to support occupational health services. This role blends clinical care, leadership, compliance, and partnership with site leadership to promote employee health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
This position is onsite three days per week (open to which three days), with required coverage of at least a Monday and/or Friday. Typical hours are 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (covering 1st and 2nd shifts), with flexibility to occasionally assist with early morning (3rd shift) coverage as needed. The provider must be able to cover at least two shifts.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Occupational Medicine Practice- Diagnose and treat work-related injuries and illnesses (including simple procedures) in accordance with Medical Director guidelines
- Conduct medical surveillance and medical qualification exams
- Manage disability cases and Workers’ Compensation, including fitness-for-duty and return-to-work evaluations
- Provide employee placement guidance related to medical restrictions
- Accurately and concisely document all encounters in the Electronic Health Record
- Lead or participate in site-level emergency response activities
- Assist with training and serve as coordinator when indicated
- Support preventative occupational health programs including ergonomics, blood borne pathogens, and travel medicine
- Promote employee health and wellbeing through education, coaching, and EAP support
- Manage Medical Department objectives and personnel at the site level
- Oversee first responders
- Participate in Safety Observation Tours, job checks, and walkthroughs
- Ensure compliance with all Federal and State occupational medical requirements (including MIOSHA and HIPAA)
- Maintain appropriate licensure, certifications, and DEA registration
- Assist with policy and procedure development and review
- Support corporate medical initiatives, training, and special projects
- Manage budgets and staff oversight where indicated
- Provide occupational health guidance to leadership, HR, union representatives, safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics teams
- Attend site meetings including Safety Review Board, Disability Improvement Process, Hazardous Materials Control, Hearing Conservation, ADAPT, and other operational meetings
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
