Production Manager

Location: Bedford, Indiana
Shift:
Daily Schedule/Shift: Candidate will need to be flexible working all three shifts. There is weekend work that is required. Will need to be open to working Saturdays and Sundays. Need to be there 30 minutes prior for meeting hand off. Both candidates will need to be flexible working on the production side. For the Production schedule, there are 2 teams, blue and white which will dictate what days they are working.
This is a workplace of choice schedule to get folks out of here more. Basically, you work 7 out of every 14 days.
Maintenance
Schedule:
1st 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
2nd: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
3rd: 10:30 pm – 7:30 am
Production
Schedule:
1st 5:30 am to 6:00 pm
2nd 5:30 pm to 6:00 am
Job ResponsibilitiesThe main function of a production supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.
Job Responsibilities:
- • Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
- • Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
- • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
Skills:
- • Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
- • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
- • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in business or related field preferred.
- 2 years experience required.
- Look for Group Leader experience if they do not have degree.
- Candidate needs to have manufacturing experience.
- Organizational leadership, management degree, and technical degree will help and be a bonus for the team.
- Need the technical background and be familiar with the die cast. Candidates will need union experience. They may oversee the production team, too!
