Manufacturing Engineer

** Description*
* SAIC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support SAIC production and manufacturing in support of the Department of War (DOW).

** This Position:*
* + Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.

+ May design arrangement of machines within facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

+ Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

+ Will estimate manufacturing cost, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.

+ Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

+ May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

+ Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

+ Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.

+ Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

+ Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

+ Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations including Manufacturing Bill of Materials.

* Education and Experience:

*
* + HS grad and five (5)+ years of manufacturing experience.

+ Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques, especially on cables, cable harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical enclosures.

+ Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives.

+ Work is reviewed by supervisor/lead to measure meeting objectives.

+ Directs established guidelines, procedures and policies.

+ Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of the variety of factors.

+ Works under general direction on routine work.

+ May receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

+ Follows established procedures.

+ Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.

+ Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

+ Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects.

+ Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in allocation of additional resources.
