Position requires an MS/Tele Registered Nurse. Minimum of 2 years of experience is required, with screening at 1.5 years. First-time travelers are accepted. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Local candidates are not accepted. Weekend duty is required every other week. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Guaranteed hours include 40 hours in 5 days of 8 or 10-hour shifts and 36 hours in 3 shifts or 48 hours in 4 shifts of 12-hour shifts.
Previous charge experience is preferred. Candidate should have experience with thoracentesis, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CVA, hypoxia, electrolyte imbalances, weakness, hypertension, small bowel obstruction, altered mental status, and renal failure. Patient ratios are typically 1 nurse to 5 or 6 patients. Unit serves adults and geriatrics and has a daily census of approximately 24 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
Candidates must float as required within the facility. Temporary licenses may be obtainable if permanent license applications have been submitted. Two supervisor references are required.
