American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
Details- Work in a 15-bed emergency department at a critical access hospital
- General ED setting treating combined adult and pediatric patients
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM to 6:30 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Cerner charting system used, with experience preferred
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals for all travelers
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start date
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
- TNCC certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Skilled in IV therapy and phlebotomy including blood product administration, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience administering continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
- Experience managing CVA (cerebrovascular accident) patients
- Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
- Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line management as needed
- Administer medications including IV sedation and vasopressors
- Care for patients experiencing CVA and other neurological emergencies
- Apply isolation precautions and PPE protocols and perform triage duties
- Local candidates residing in Indiana are not accepted for this position
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous IU Health perm or PRN employees must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a designated break to reset eligibility
