American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

• Work in a 15-bed emergency department at a critical access hospital
• General ED setting treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM to 6:30 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Cerner charting system used, with experience preferred
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals for all travelers

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start date
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Skilled in IV therapy and phlebotomy including blood product administration, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience administering continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Experience managing CVA (cerebrovascular accident) patients
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line management as needed
• Administer medications including IV sedation and vasopressors
• Care for patients experiencing CVA and other neurological emergencies
• Apply isolation precautions and PPE protocols and perform triage duties
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are not accepted for this position
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous IU Health perm or PRN employees must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a designated break to reset eligibility
