Introduction
The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Accounting Manager with significant exposure to the Senior Director, Accounting Operations. They will be part of a high-performing team and will be expected to lead, take ownership of their areas of responsibility, and ensure accurate and timely completion of company reporting requirements. This role will provide opportunities to be visible within the company.
WhatYou Will Do
Key activities include but are not limited to:
Revenue Accounting & Contract Review- Contribute to the month-end close process including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and flux analysis related to revenue activities, including allowances for coop, returns, promotions and compliance. Primary focus on Americas and other APAC regions, ensuring timely and accurate close, preparation of P&L and balance sheet impact, variance and flux analysis, and management reporting and commentary.
- Manage subledger and general ledger reconciliations related to revenue, returns, allowances, rebates, MDF/Co-op, promotional deductions, along with Accounts Receivable reconciliations.
- Partner with Technical Accounting, Sales, Legal, and Operations to review contracts and assess accounting implications.
- Partner with Sales, Operations, and Legal to review amendments, rebates, allowances, or return/credit terms to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
- Process retailer deductions such as Co-op funds, MDF, promotional allowances, retailer returns, allowances, and other deductions, ensuring correct accounting treatment, reconciliation, and impact on net sales/revenue.
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Customer/Channel Management and Technical Accounting teams to understand and document deduction/return/allowance agreements and their accounting implications.
- Process payroll-related journal entries: bi-weekly payroll, month-end salary and vacation accrual, benefit plan accruals.
- Reconcile payroll and benefit-related general ledger accounts (liabilities, accruals, prepaids, etc.).
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll/benefit accounting close in parallel with financial close cycles.
- Ensure compliance of key accounting controls for Sarbanes-Oxley purposes.
- Identify and implement processes to gain efficiencies and improvements to current manual processes as well as improved month-end closing timelines.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- 4+ years of related experience.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Exposure to Oracle EBS and Tableau is preferred.
