Position Overview
Senior Accountant to join corporate accounting team in a public company environment. Key responsibilities include monthly/quarterly close, balance sheet integrity, financial reporting support, and internal control execution to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. Supports Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX
404) compliant internal control environment.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, roll forwards, and supporting schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
- Ensure general ledger integrity and underlying financial data (classification, cut‑off, U.S. GAAP compliance).
- Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement analyses; identify trends/variances and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure accounting‑relevant information is processed timely with high‑quality documentation.
- Support timely completion of close activities per reporting calendar.
- Maintain consistency between internal records and external reporting outputs.
- Draft/compile schedules for internal financial reporting packages.
- Support external audit and quarterly review requests (audit selections, PBC requests, control testing).
- Support control environment (SOX
404) via documentation and testing of internal controls over financial reporting. - Support adoption/implementation of new accounting standards, policies, and process changes.
- Assist with special/ad‑hoc accounting and reporting projects.
- Bachelor’s in accounting or finance; CPA license a plus.
- Public accounting and/or public company industry experience strongly preferred.
- 3–6+ years relevant experience; at least 2 years on an accounting/financial reporting team at a publicly traded company (life sciences preferred).
- Strong Excel skills (large datasets, reconciliations, analysis).
- ERP experience.
- Strong written/verbal communication; ability to document and explain accounting matters.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
