Overview: An established and rapidly growing national general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on complex construction projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on construction leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, values collaboration, and is committed to delivering high-quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

This position requires full-time onsite presence and offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in sectors such as healthcare, federal, and mission-critical facilities. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise all day-to-day field operations.
  • Coordinate with project teams to maintain schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Plan and organize construction activities in accordance with contract documents.
  • Maintain working knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Conduct onsite meetings with owners, subcontractors, consultants, and trade partners.
  • Monitor field productivity and project progress.
  • Mentor and develop project team members.
  • Oversee project startup, turnover, and closeout activities.
  • Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project logs.
  • Manage contractual and scope-related issues.
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Forecast project costs and support financial performance.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Partner with safety leadership to uphold all project safety standards and requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • 10-15 years of experience working for a general contractor.
  • Experience managing construction projects valued at $20M+.
  • Experience leading healthcare construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, means, methods, and building systems.
  • Experience managing change orders, contracts, and project schedules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to develop and manage RFIs, potential change orders, project schedules, and short-term look-ahead plans.
  • Experience managing subcontractors in a hard-bid environment and enforcing contract scope requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with owners, subcontractors, project teams, and executive leadership.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts when required, including nights or weekends on active healthcare projects.
  • Experience with prevailing wage, Davis-Bacon, union, or similar labor compliance requirements.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Willingness to travel and potentially relocate to future project assignments throughout the United States.
  • Desire to grow within a team-oriented organization focused on professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs projects.
  • Familiarity with EM 385 and Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQMC).
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
