TSP Ed Co is seeking a compassionate and dependable Paraprofessional / Instructional Aide to join our team and support students in a school setting in New Bedford, MA.
This is a great opportunity for a Paraprofessional who enjoys working directly with students, building meaningful relationships, and helping children develop the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional skills they need to be successful at school.
What You'll DoAs a Paraprofessional, you will work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and other members of the educational team to provide individualized support to students. Responsibilities may include:
- Providing direct 1:1 and/or small-group support to students
- Assisting students with academic assignments and classroom activities
- Supporting students with behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs
- Reinforcing positive behaviors and implementing established behavior strategies
- Assisting students with transitions, routines, and participation throughout the school day
- Supporting students in developing greater independence and self-advocacy skills
- Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and other school professionals
- Following individualized student plans, accommodations, and classroom strategies
- Maintaining accurate documentation and communicating student needs and progress
- Maintaining student confidentiality and following all school and TSP Ed Co policies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children or adolescents preferred
- School-based and/or special education experience is a plus
- Experience supporting students with behavioral or developmental needs preferred
- Ability to follow individualized student plans and established classroom strategies
- Strong communication, teamwork, patience, and organizational skills
- Dependable, compassionate, and committed to helping students succeed
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team
- Ability to meet all applicable school and employment requirements
