Job Description

Join our team as a Mechanical Engineer, where you will collaborate closely with engineering competency teams to modify existing designs and create new ones. You will be responsible for creating and updating documentation to ensure quality and repeatable manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will execute prototype fabrication using hand tools and common shop equipment, and participate in all project phases, including requirements definition, prototyping, design, integration and testing, deployment, installation, and support.

Responsibilities

* Modify existing designs and create new designs in collaboration with engineering teams.

* Create and update documentation necessary for quality and repeatable manufacture.

* Execute prototype fabrication using hand tools and common shop equipment.

* Participate in all phases of projects, including requirements definition, prototyping, design, integration and testing, deployment, installation, and support.

* Coordinate activities with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and other support partners.

Essential Skills

* Proficiency with Solid Works and PDM for detail design and data management.

* Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis.

* Knowledge of ASME Y14 drafting standards and machine shop/manufacturing processes.

* Experience building or fabricating prototypes or final products/systems.

* Experience working with complex electromechanical assemblies, systems, or capital equipment.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

* Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience.

* Hands-on assembly experience in electromechanical assemblies.

* Experience in new product development and introduction.

* Design for manufacturing and DFMEA.

Work Environment

The position involves working with electromechanical systems and devices, focusing on equipment and machine design. The role requires hands-on experience with prototype fabrication, utilizing common shop equipment and hand tools. You will engage in a collaborative environment, coordinating with various partners including customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bedford, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
