We are seeking a Systems Engineer for an onsite assignment at Hanscom AFB, MA. The ideal candidate will have an active Secret Security Clearance, a Master's Degree, and at least four years of engineering experience, including at least two years in a DoD environment. The role focuses on advanced systems engineering for mission‑critical Air Force programs, ensuring the design, integration, and performance of complex defense systems.
PositionResponsibilities
- Provides the Air Force programs with engineering and acquisition support, applying technical expertise to systems engineering policies and processes.
- Applies engineering expertise to systems and subsystems, including configuration management, data management, security, and other integration functions.
- Manages complex system interfaces, identifies and documents interfaces, and ensures effective integration of multiple subsystems.
- Ensures system requirements meet user needs; uses requirements to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate system concepts; performs assessments and reviews of the design.
- Performs or supports capability analyses and COTS/GOTS evaluation, selects components, and develops system interfaces to ensure compliance with DoD and commercial standards.
- Constructs models and simulations of systems to demonstrate the ability to meet user requirements.
- Conducts engineering performance, cost‑effectiveness, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessment, and trade‑off studies; documents information in technical reports as directed.
- Provides aid or guidance as necessary in the accomplishment of other engineering tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience: Minimum four years of engineering experience, with at least two years supporting DoD programs or environments.
- Cybersecurity Knowledge: Familiarity with Cyber Situational Awareness tools and practices, including SIEM tools (e.g., ATC Splunk, Elastic Stack), and an understanding of security integration in defense systems.
- Risk Management: Understanding of risks and ability to develop risk matrices based on probabilities and consequences.
- Active Secret clearance preferred.
- Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years of interdisciplinary engineering experience and exposure to procurement activities.
