Principal Antenna Engineer

Mayflower is looking for a Principal Antenna Engineer to develop GNSS multi‑element antenna array designs to support Mayflower GNSS anti‑jam products. The candidate should be able to design, model, and analyze multi‑element arrays of monopoles, loops, dipoles, and other microwave element structures. Expertise with HFSS and impedance‑matching antenna arrays over multiple bands is desired, along with experience in RF system‑level design (LNAs, mixers, filters, amplifiers, PLLs, VCOs, I/Q modulators, RF dividers).

Proficiency with laboratory equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, noise figure analyzers, power meters) and measuring antenna patterns in an anechoic chamber is required.

  • S/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with experience in electromagnetics and antenna design, modeling, and development.
  • Proficiency with anechoic chamber antenna pattern measurements and laboratory use of spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, noise figure analyzers, power meters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Antenna modeling and design experience.
  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD clearance.
Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Design and develop advanced GPS anti‑jam and wireless communication technologies for military applications. Participate in design reviews, maintain project documentation, work closely with systems engineers and hardware integration teams, and support real‑time implementations on DSPs and microprocessors.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D./MS in Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in integrated real‑time extended Kalman filter design and implementation; GPS system operation knowledge is preferred.
  • Digital signal processing experience is a plus.
  • On‑site work at Mayflower facilities in Bedford, MA.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • U.S. veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience
  • Strong analytical and mathematical background.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Python.
  • Experience designing navigation filters for GPS and GPS/INS systems.
  • Background in Extended Kalman Filters.
  • Programming experience with C/C++ is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Architect, design, implement, validate, and integrate ASIC or FPGA logic (interface, control, DSP) for GPS anti‑jam development.
  • Author and maintain ASIC/FPGA design specifications and test plans.
  • Collaborate with verification, systems, software, and digital hardware engineers on DSP integration.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
  • Minimum B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8 years of ASIC/FPGA experience post‑B.S. (or 5 years with an M.S.).
  • RTL design using System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL (preferred System Verilog or Verilog).
  • ASIC/FPGA SoC design, tool knowledge (Cadence, Synopsys, Xilinx, Altera, Actel).
  • Simulation experience with Questa or similar Mentor tools.
  • High‑speed timing and closure expertise.
  • Familiarity with ARM processors and AMBA bus protocols.
  • Experience with state machines, FFTs, DDCs, DDR3, I2C, SPI.
  • Signal‑processing concepts (MATLAB) and positioning/navigation system algorithms.
  • Military/aerospace design technique experience.
  • Work with high‑speed digital components (DSP, Xilinx FPGAs, NXP ARM, PIC microcontrollers, custom ASICs, A/D and D/A converters, DDR).
  • Digital design of complex, high‑density, multi‑layer, high‑speed mixed‑signal PCBs.
  • Participate in system architecture trade‑off studies.
  • Write and maintain design documentation via in‑house EDA tools.
  • PCB placement and lab debugging; oversee contracted PCB layout designers.
  • Experience with high‑speed multi‑layer digital hardware, Xilinx FPGAs, NXP ARM, PIC, custom ASICs, A/D and D/A converters, DDR.
  • OrCAD schematic capture, PADS layout.
  • High‑speed digital I/Os such as RapidI/O.
  • Support parts database and vendor management.
  • Assist with hardware PCB changes, parts research, ordering.
  • Board bring‑up, lab debug, validation techniques (multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer).
  • Version control experience (CVS).
