The role ensures manufacturing excursions are addressed with rigorous root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Ideal candidates bring strong technical depth, disciplined problem-solving, and excellent leadership to build and guide a high-performing engineering team that drives process maturity, quality excellence, and operational reliability.

What You’ll Do
  • Model exceptional safety behaviors and coach the engineering team to design processes that prioritize safe operation, ergonomics, and risk reduction.
  • Enhance factory safety by identifying ergonomic risks and eliminating high-risk tasks through process optimization, redesign, and automation.
  • Lead or support safety investigations from a process engineering standpoint, ensuring effective containment, root cause identification, and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Lead a set of Engineers, review workload on a frequent basis, prioritize workload over business requirements, and ensure engineers are set up for success.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for factory process excursions, maintaining daily process stability to protect productivity and throughput.
  • Identify critical manufacturing variables, reduce process variability, and uphold robust statistical process controls.
  • Advance and standardize SPC practices across the factory with clearly defined control limits, reaction plans, and follow-up actions.
  • Drive engineering ownership of comprehensive RCAs for yield loss events and process excursions, ensuring permanent corrective actions are implemented.
  • Deploy containment actions rapidly, verify effectiveness with clear criteria, and provide timely progress updates to leadership.
  • Lead continuous yield improvement efforts using data-driven analysis, SPC signals, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Chair Change Control to ensure all changes are rigorously evaluated to prevent customer-impacting excursions.
  • Maintain site quality policies and standards, FMEAs, and product control plans to ensure compliance and consistent execution across the engineering team.
  • Support customer quality engineers as the primary point of contact for customer requirements and requests.
  • Manage customer complaints and support 8D investigations to identify root causes, present findings to customers and management, and prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct routine Gemba walks to verify adherence to the Plan of Record (POR) and drive operational discipline.
  • Partner with Operations to strengthen product quality through effective training, validation, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Engage early in NPI programs, supporting seamless transfer into high-volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate on capital investments, ensuring critical capital projects are deployed and aligned with manufacturing needs.
  • Ensure all metrology tools meet required standards by managing GR&R studies, maintaining compliance with quality policies, and performing LTS reviews for metrology tool health.
