Mechanical Engineer
FORMULATRIX®, a world leader in robotic automation for life science and pharmaceutical research, is seeking ambitious junior to mid-level mechanical design engineers to join our team at our Bedford site. To solve the types of problems we face, we are looking for hard‑working individuals who are organized, analytical, and have a knack for troubleshooting. Ideal candidates are interested in continuous learning and development, not only in design engineering but in all of the other aspects of bringing a product from idea to commercial launch.
This position offers a great deal of flexibility for a mechanical engineer. We have a full suite of equipment for in‑house prototyping, including a CNC machine, laser cutter, Bridgeport mill, lathe, electronic workstations, and 3D printers. Having these equipment capabilities in‑house provides the ability to rapidly ideate, fabricate, and test ideas as we progress through the trial‑and‑error iterations of the design process.
Your job will consist of testing new designs, suggesting design improvements, and doing hands‑on troubleshooting. You will provide feedback to and work with our offshore colleagues, craft prototypes, and assist the product manager with customer or engineering issues. This position requires a team player with a can‑do attitude. While your work will be individual, ongoing team communication and problem‑solving are key.
Job Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Project/team Leadership experience is highly desired
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with programming and robotics (desired)
At FORMULATRIX we are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. Women, people of color, and people from other historically underrepresented groups in the engineering field are strongly encouraged to apply. Also, if you are excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every point in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles!
FORMULATRIX requires dedication from our employees, and we are committed to hiring only the best of the best. All engineering, support, and management employees work 45‑hour work weeks. In return, FORMULATRIX offers a rewarding compensation package including base salary, bonuses, profit sharing, health and dental benefits, AFLAC supplemental insurance, a 401K retirement plan, a collaborative atmosphere complete with site‑wide lunches on Fridays, and excellent growth opportunities.
NotesWe are not offering visa sponsorship at the present time; therefore, only eligible candidates will be contacted.
