Duty 1:
Performs multidisciplinary professional engineering work involving the application of electronics, mechanical, aerospace, and/or other engineering disciplines or specialty areas to determine the business and technical needs of customers in the acquisition, development, or sustainment of weapon systems, sub-systems, support systems, equipment items, or an equivalent product.

Duty 2:
Functions as the organization's technical specialist in developing system performance requirements, objectives and integration, and the estimation of time and resources for system design, development, and support. Applies expertise in the field of engineering and extensive knowledge of the assigned functional area to resolve unique or novel problems related to design and development engineering.

Duty 3:
Performs complex and comprehensive analyses and uses systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to determine performance objectives and integration issues. Implements, develops, and documents projects; ascertains needed changes or modifications to production methods, procedures, and/or approaches; and documents systems requirements.

Duty 4:
Serves as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations. Initiates and provides expert technical direction, management, and administration for assigned engineering programs and projects. Serves as the technical expert for the organization and provides status and advisory services to superiors on problems, issues, and projects in assigned program areas.
