Applications Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

A global leader in advanced engineering technologies is seeking an Applications Engineer to serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and international product development teams. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role supporting innovative solutions within the semiconductor and high-vacuum technology markets. You will be working with customers as well as our Japanese team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the technical expert for OEM and strategic customer accounts
• Gather customer requirements and translate them into product specifications
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and improve product solutions
• Support product installations, evaluations, and technical training
• Troubleshoot performance issues and drive root-cause resolution
• Build strong relationships with customer engineering and operations teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• 5+ years of engineering experience in a customer-facing environment
• Experience with cryogenic systems, vacuum technology, cryopumps, or semiconductor equipment preferred
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills
• Ability to travel locally within Massachusetts and occasionally internationally

Bonus Skill:

• If you speak conversational or fluent Japanese, or have worked with an international team or client before, it would be incredible (but not required)
