Overview
Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) II – responsible for ensuring a secure operational posture for information systems within Special Access Programs (SAPs), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Collateral programs.
Responsibilities- Develop physical or logical topologies for a system.
- Assist the ISSM with duties and responsibilities.
- Prepare, review, and update authorization packages.
- Ensure approved procedures for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media.
- Conduct periodic reviews of information systems for compliance with security authorization packages.
- Coordinate changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with ISSM and AO/DAO prior to change.
- Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are restored and functioning.
- Ensure all information security-related documentation is current and accessible by authorized individuals.
- Collect, review, and document audit records, including any anomalies.
- Attend required technical and security training (operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties.
- Execute the cybersecurity portion of the self‑inspection, providing security coordination and review of all system assessment plans.
- Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist with implementing countermeasures.
- Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems.
- Perform ISSO duties in support of in‑house and external customers.
- Conduct security impact analysis activities and provide to the ISSM on all configuration management changes to the authorization boundaries.
- Conduct continuous monitoring activities for authorization boundaries.
- Assist Department of Defense, National Agency, and Contractor organizations with all RMF efforts.
- 5–7 years of related experience.
- Prior performance in roles such as System or Network Administrator or ISSO.
- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree in a related field plus 2 years’ experience (equivalent to 4 years); or equivalent experience.
- Must meet DoD Directive 8570.01‑M certification requirements for Information Assurance Technician II or Information Assurance Manager II within 6 months of hire.
- Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, eligibility for Special Access Program information, and willingness to submit to a counterintelligence polygraph.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
