Value of Position (VoP):
Deputy Cyber OSF, NH-2210-04 (98) position has a typical 2026 salary range of $142,452 to $197,200. (Includes locality) Desirable
Skills:
Cybersecurity and Cyber Resiliency. Including System Security Engineering, Cyber Resiliency, Weapon System and National Security System (NSS) cyber experience, cybersecurity policy and process, Risk Management Framework (RMF), Software Assurance, and Cryptography. Previous Cybersecurity experience is required. Previous Defense Acquisition, Program Management, and Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3) enterprise experience is highly desired. Summary:
Serves as a Supervisory Information Technology Program Manager (PLCYPLN/ENTARCH) and Deputy Lead for the Cyber Survivability Team (CST) supporting Air Force Portfolio Acquisition Executive (AFPAE), Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3). Directs and executes NC3 Weapon System security governance and cyber resiliency engineering for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Integration Directorate (AFNWC/NC). Assists in leading and supervising a team that provides technical system security engineering and cyber resiliency expertise in design, development, manufacture, operation, maintenance, and disposal of Air Force Weapon Systems.
Advises the AFPAE NC3 and the NC3 Integration Directorate in integrating cyber resiliency and security into the system development life-cycle and mitigating critical cyber vulnerabilities in fielded systems. Guides development of cyber requirements and RFP activities, evaluates contractor technical proposals, supports program technical reviews, analyzes and recommends technical system security engineering and cyber mitigations and lines of effort. Assists with verification & validation plans, and supports cyber integration in systems operation and sustainment activities.
Represents the PAE and Directorate by coordinating with internal and external mission stakeholders, to including functional counterparts, product centers, MAJCOMs, HAF/DAF Staff, other DoD organizations and Services, other federal agencies, industry partners and academia. Recommends IT and engineering policy and processes to ensure technical integrity and consistency of application in system security engineering and cyber resiliency. This position requires strong communication and technical systems engineering, system security engineering, cyber, and system acquisition knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Analyzes areas of concern, identifies problems, and resolves conflicts through persuasive discussions with management and user representatives. Consults with other officials and working groups, customers, and other organization personnel on cybersecurity concerns. Prepares reports encompassing long and short-range planning strategy recommendations and presents briefings covering recommendations for acquisition or changes in business practices. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
