Position Summary:
Responsible for developing and executing supply and/or vendor management strategies for specific commodities, which ensure appropriate product quality and enhance the company's ability to ship on time while reducing total cost and lead‑time.
- Develop supply strategies for each assigned commodity.
- Seek solutions to minimize routine purchase transactions.
- Play a key role in strategic cost management initiatives.
- Prepare analysis and plans for negotiations; lead negotiations involving critical suppliers.
- Develop contracts and supply agreements that protect the company from excess inventory, insufficient supply, unfavorable payment terms, hidden costs, and supplier non‑conformance.
- Have a thorough understanding of assigned commodities including manufacturing processes, applications, global supply status, price trends, cost drivers, and product migration paths.
- Identify potential disruption in the supply chain due to changes in a supplier’s business, including their strategic direction, operating results, technical capabilities, and overall performance.
- Continuously seek to reduce waste in every activity and supplier‑related process or transaction.
- Purchase and/or contract for materials and services in accordance with company established practices and policies to ensure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with vendors.
- Exercise the appropriate controls related to the legal aspects of purchasing.
- Oversee the activities of the buyers and senior buyers on the commodity team.
- Work with the Materials Manager and QA to maintain and implement an annual supplier audit campaign consistent with requirements for FDA and ISO 9000.

Skills & Capabilities- Effective interpersonal skills.
- BS degree in business or engineering.
- ISM (NAPM) certification preferred.
- Demonstrated record of cost reduction.
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and supply chain management strategies and concepts.
