Position Summary:
The Shipper/Receiver manages the flow of goods, receiving incoming deliveries, preparing outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and organizing warehouse storage. This position requires the candidate to be onsite Monday through Friday. First shift is from 9am-5pm.
Responsibilities- Receiving of inventory, verification of correct items received against purchase order, inspection of inventory for damage or discrepancies.
- Picking, packing and shipment of inventory.
- Prepare finished goods for shipments by identifying, pulling and packing materials as needed.
- Print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs.
- Support the received goods and supplies to be used for production/storage of goods and report any shortages or damages to your supervisor.
- Prepare and distribute shipment paperwork as required with adherence to all applicable guidelines.
- Coordinate shipments to and from storage warehouse(s).
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in shipping/receiving.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and processes.
- Familiar with ISO Standards and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Proficient in various MS Office applications.
- Ability to use computers and learn an ERP system
- Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record.
- Must have your own vehicle and be willing to transport boxes to Fed Ex on occasion
- Able to work flexible and/or extended hours as business demands.
- Experience in a small, fast-paced company environment desired.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Capable of simple math.
- Must be able to multi-task, meet established deadlines and work with manager to prioritize changing demands.
- Ability to work independently and with teams.
- Takes responsibility for assignments.
- Must be self-motivated and possess good organizational skills.
- Must have a commitment to quality and safety.
- Must have clear and legible handwriting.
- Prior ERP System experience, previous experience with QAD is a plus.
- Proficiency in shipping software (Fed Ex, UPS, etc.).
- Familiarity with domestic and international shipping documentation.
- Ability to wear appropriate cleanroom attire or PPE for a full workday if necessary (mask, safety glasses, gloves, hair net, coveralls, shoe covers). Ability to work in standing and/or seated positions for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in office, chemical laboratories, and assembly environments.
