The Production Plant Manager is responsible for leading a newly acquired manufacturing team. The role oversees various processes and assembly lines, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements, and driving cost‑effective, reliable, and predictable manufacturing outcomes. The team will triple in size over the upcoming year. The role manages budget adherence, quality compliance, resource utilization, and talent development within the manufacturing environment.
The manager proactively addresses complex problems, fosters innovation, and drives continuous improvement to meet organizational goals.
- Demonstrate proactive leadership in promoting and driving Operational Excellence by spearheading improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing processes, enhancing productivity, and achieving operational efficiency.
- Lead a medium‑sized manufacturing team, providing guidance and direction in overseeing diverse processes and assembly lines, while serving as the local host manager for other functions within the organization.
- Assume responsibility for developing comprehensive manufacturing costs for the organization's Annual Operating Plan and multi‑year manufacturing and investment plans, aligning them with organizational objectives and financial targets.
- Oversee expenses and spending activities, ensuring strict adherence to the approved financial budget while driving the formulation and execution of the manufacturing site's strategic plan and business continuity planning.
- Identify and manage safety risks by conducting thorough site risk assessments, implementing operational controls, and developing corrective action plans to mitigate potential hazards and enhance workplace safety.
- Have 8+ years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 6+ years of experience with a Master’s, leading a fast‑paced manufacturing team in a highly regulated environment; startups experience is a plus. This is a people leader role for a team of 20 that will triple during 2026.
- Skills include Manufacturing Principles, People Management, and Executive Stakeholder Management.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electro‑mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent; a master’s Degree is preferred.
- Be able to successfully perform the required physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements, with or without accommodation.
This is an onsite role, requiring full‑time presence in the company’s facilities. Office‑based teams should work in‑person at least three days per week. Field roles are typically conducted outside the company’s main facilities, at customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
Philips Transparency DetailsThe pay range for this position in Bedford, Massachusetts, is $174,000 to $276,000. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors, including job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission, or long‑term incentives may be offered.
