Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor (6am - 6:30pm Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday)

Position Summary: The Production Supervisor position is responsible and accountable for the efficient utilization of resources to achieve production requirements and by focusing on continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, cost, and service.

• Coordinates effective delegation of work assignments and training.
• Engages in providing a safe working environment for the employees by actively participating in and encouraging the employees to participate in the S.E.E. Committee and other company-sponsored safety programs.
• Take an active role as a Safety team member.
• Continuously speak to operators about proactive measures to promote a safe work environment.
• Audits and manages the production processes and employees to ensure quality of production and adherence to established standards and work practices.
• Monitors the accuracy of documentation and electronic transactions to ensure the accuracy of work order and inventory records.
• Works with a sense of urgency that enables production schedules to be met while minimizing unnecessary costs related to downtime and labor and material variances, without jeopardizing the health and safety of the general workforce or the quality and accuracy of production and without violating established work standards and ISO requirements.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Wears required personal protective equipment.
• Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures.
• Communicates potential hazards immediately to the Manager.
• Ensures that employees are actively standardizing their work area using 6S, and updates/creates the 6S program as needed.
• Engages in gemba walks and employee passdown information.
• Assists in developing CI plans and participates in kaizen activities for improving business systems, cost reductions, and eliminating waste in the operation.
• Implements quality improvements using the 8D problem-solving methods.
• Works closely with schedulers to minimize unevenness in the schedule and develops action plans with the schedulers to act upon any schedule interruptions.
• Ensures employees are completing their training in ETQ and Sum Total and monitors these training systems to avoid late status.
• Works with the Production Planner to assist with production order processing and execution.
• Conducts daily passdown meetings within shifts.
• Trains operators in SAP and ensures all necessary transactions and paperwork are filled out accurately and in a timely manner.
• Works with the Manager and Quality to assist in conducting internal quality audits and support during customer and ISO audits.
• Conducts new hire onboarding training.
• Utilizes Camline to ensure production processes are in control and operators are responding to flagged items.
• Creates and updates standard operating procedures, ensuring all SOPs on the floor are accurate and up to date.
• Conducts critical-to-quality audits with operators to ensure they are following critical process steps and SOPs.
• Utilizes the Ignition system to help drive smarter operations.
• Provides support to R&D projects and DOE’s with engineers.
• Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot, identify and resolve non-routine problems with process equipment.
• Works with engineers to create/update response flow checklists and ensures process records and SAP transactions are completed by shifts responsible for the process.
• Ensures projects are completed on time.
• Assists the Production Manager with day-to-day operations to ensure the company thrives for excellence.
