Summary
As a Senior Quality Inspector, you will ensure product quality and safety. You will identify defects and recommend improvements by conducting inspections and tests in this role.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform basic mechanical inspection of parts (incoming, in-process and outgoing)
- Manage site calibration activities.
- Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) support and documentation.
- Lead or participate in Gemba walks to gain firsthand understanding of production and inspection activities, support root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
- Compile and maintain inspection records.
- Receive customer returns (RMA) in the ERP system.
- Perform inventory material transactions in the ERP system.
- Execute diverse tasks including inventory material transfers, coordination with the regional Customer Care teams (US, EMEA and Japan), and provide information of RMA status.
- Perform cycle counting as required.
- Perform internal MRB / Return to Vendor support as required.
- Proactively seek productivity improvement opportunities.
- Discuss technical problems encountered with manager, engineering staff or purchasing staff.
- Plan own work schedule based on material requirements and skillset possessed.
- Utilize CMM and other inspection methods (manual and automated) to validate product conformance, support PPAP submissions, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Strict compliance with quality, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implementation of the instructions of the quality/environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.
- 5-8 years of quality inspection experience; manufacturing experience is a plus.
- High school, trade school or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficient in the use of mechanical inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, surface plate techniques, air gauge, go/no go gauges, and other mechanical inspection equipment.
- Experience operating and programming CMM equipment is a plus.
- Manual dexterity.
- Attention to detail.
- Familiar with data entry and basic computer skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with peers and superiors.
- Willing to work within prescribed procedures.
- Positive attitude, willingness to work with peers.
- Displays a high moral and business code of conduct.
- Respectful of peers, subordinates and supervisors.
