Research Scientist
Sirius Staffing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to support the Filtration Research & Development (R&D) Applications Group within a leading biotechnology and life sciences organization. This role supports innovative filtration product and technology development through hands-on laboratory testing and experimentation in a fast-paced R&D environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong laboratory experience who enjoy working alongside engineers and scientists to support cutting-edge research and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Perform filtration application testing and laboratory experiments supporting R&D projects
- Execute experiments according to detailed protocols with minimal supervision
- Accurately document experimental work using electronic laboratory notebooks
- Assist with troubleshooting experimental processes and equipment
- Support data collection, preliminary analysis, and organization of results
- Contribute feedback toward experimental planning and protocol improvements
- Maintain compliance with all laboratory safety, health, and environmental procedures
- Prepare reports and maintain detailed experimental records
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience
- Experience working in a laboratory environment following established protocols
- Experience mixing solutions and preparing materials according to detailed procedures
- Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebooks and laboratory documentation practices
- Experience with filtration technologies such as:
- Normal Flow Filtration (NFF)
- Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF)
- Adsorptive media processes
- Basic troubleshooting and data analysis experience
- Understanding of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience supporting product testing and development activities
