Position Summary: The Patient Blood Management (PBM) Sales Consultant is responsible for driving adoption and growth of PBM solutions across healthcare systems by partnering with clinical, administrative, and executive stakeholders. This role combines clinical knowledge, strategic selling, and consultative expertise to help hospitals improve patient outcomes, reduce blood utilization, and achieve operational and financial efficiencies. The PBM Sales Consultant serves as a trusted advisor, educating customers on evidence‑based blood management practices and aligning solutions with organizational goals.
This individual will identify opportunities within targeted accounts, develop and execute territory plans, and collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver value‑driven solutions that support quality care initiatives. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of healthcare workflows, transfusion practices, and value‑based care, along with the ability to influence decision‑makers and lead complex sales cycles in a highly clinical environment. Requires 50‑75% travel weekly.
Territory includes Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, N. Dakota, S. Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado, N. Illinois with preferred location being greater Chicago or Minneapolis areas.
- Achieves annual sales objectives as set forth by management.
- Analyzes existing and anticipated customer requirements and promotes consideration and purchase of company products and services.
- Initiates and develops contacts with customers, both existing and potential, with focus on new sales opportunities.
- Prepares and delivers effective product/sales presentations.
- Maintains all aspects of the Werfen Customer Database and Property Accountability Documents.
- Achieves and maintains a high level of competency in knowledge and positioning of Werfen products and services. Strives to achieve similar competency regarding competitive systems.
- Prepares accurate and effective quotations in accordance with existing policy and procdure.
- Prepares accurate forecasts and other sales reports as required.
- Prepares an annual territory business plan, with consideration of current corporate and area focus and objectives.
- Is responsible for complying with all appropriate ISO mandated policies, procedures, work instructions and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Sales Management.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
- 3+ years of direct experience in a clinical setting such as nursing, operating room, surgical services and/or 3+ years experience in capital equipment sales required.
