About the Position

Werfen is a global diagnostics company. This role is located in Bedford, MA.

Fully competent in one or more scientific/technical areas, plans and conducts assignments requiring mastery of specialized techniques.

• Apply scientific method and experimental design in problem solving.
• Use scientific expertise to provide solutions to a broad range of difficult problems.
• Deliver original, thorough, and practical solutions.
• Communicate progress status to supervisor and across the organization.
• Perform complicated or demanding assignments requiring specialized knowledge.
• May offer creative or inventive solutions.
• Define short- and mid-term objectives and implement plans to accomplish them.
• May direct the work of other personnel.
• Maintain accurate, precise, and legible laboratory notebooks.
• Maintain good documentation and write reports and technical summaries.
• Represent the company to outside organizations.
• Continuously broaden professional expertise through scientific literature and competitive product knowledge.
• Handle broad assignments and objectives under minimal supervision.
• Accomplish short-term objectives and perform related duties as assigned.

• Ph.D. or equivalent in a scientific discipline, or relevant professional experience.
• Broad use and application of scientific principles, theories, and concepts in the field of expertise.
• Professional experience preferred.
• International mobility not required.
• Travel: less than 5% of time.

Annual base salary range: $110,000 to $140,000.
