Job Overview

As a Therapeutic Mentor (TM) at CCBC, you will gain valuable experience building a career in mental health. TM’s provide one‑to‑one intervention and therapeutic skill‑building to youth ages 7 to 21, addressing daily living, social, communication and emotional regulation challenges. You will meet with youth in community settings, coach development of self‑management, problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills, and design strategies for effective peer interactions.

Skill‑building activities include social, recreational, athletic, artistic, educational, and vocational pursuits.

Responsibilities
  • Meet one‑to‑one with youth in community settings
  • Develop treatment plans in collaboration with outpatient therapists, Intensive Care Coordinators, and/or In‑Home Therapists
  • Support the youth in developing goals in identified skill‑building areas
  • Consult with schools, outpatient providers, and psychiatric providers to support ongoing treatment needs
  • Identify community supports and activities to engage youth in skill‑building goals
  • Provide flexibility and creativity in engaging youth of varying developmental levels
  • Meet all documentation requirements of the agency and TM program specifications
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
  • One year of experience working with children and families; volunteer and internship experience will be considered
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Strong organizational, verbal, written, and computer skills
  • Proficiency with computers, including an electronic health record system and audio‑visual communication technology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual staff (Spanish) encouraged to apply
