The Edinburg Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Employment Specialist to join our Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) team. This community based role supports adults living with serious mental health challenges as they work toward employment, independence, recovery, and community integration.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help individuals identify career goals, develop job readiness skills, secure meaningful employment opportunities, and maintain success in the workplace.
What You Will Do:- Build supportive and therapeutic relationships with persons served
- Assist individuals in identifying vocational interests, strengths, and employment goals
- Provide vocational supportive counseling and career planning
- Teach job-seeking skills, interview preparation, resume development, and workplace readiness
- Develop individualized employment opportunities based on a person's interests, abilities, and goals
- Provide job coaching, on the job support, and problem-solving assistance
- Conduct employment assessments and workplace evaluations
- Coordinate with employers, state vocational rehabilitation agencies, and community employment resources
- Support individuals in overcoming barriers that may impact employment success
- Assist with transportation planning, workplace preparation, and employment-related supports
- Participate in recovery-oriented treatment planning and service coordination
- Provide outreach services in homes and throughout the community
- Respond to crises and support individuals in achieving their recovery goals
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation
- Passionate about helping individuals achieve independence through employment
- Strong communicator who enjoys building relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
- Comfortable working independently in the community and collaboratively within a team
- Knowledgeable about employment services, vocational rehabilitation, or workforce development
- Committed to recovery-oriented and person-centered care
Required
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) and at least one year of experience in human services, behavioral health, vocational rehabilitation, employment services, or a related field
OR
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges
- Experience providing vocational supportive counseling
- Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation and supported employment services
