Instrument Control Software Engineer – C++ (Bedford, MA)
This is an onsite role located in Bedford, MA.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented C++ Software Engineer to develop instrument control software for innovative medical devices.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain C++ software for medical device instrument control using the Qt Framework.
- Design and implement software for instrument control sequences and hardware control subsystems.
- Follow industry best practices and company guidelines for Dev Ops.
- Participate in agile planning and development execution processes.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with customer‑facing, technical, and software quality team members, including:
- Realization of intended product functional behavior
- Release planning
- Software risk management
- Verification and validation planning
- Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience developing in C++, with experience in C# beneficial.
- Proficiency with Git or similar version control systems.
- Familiarity with the Qt Framework or ability to learn it quickly.
- Strong object‑oriented design principles.
- Knowledge of hardware‑software interaction, asynchronous programming, multithreading, design patterns, and synchronization techniques.
- Experience in embedded or instrument‑control software, medical device development, or unit testing frameworks; ability to create supporting utilities in Python.
- Capable of performing required physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements.
Office‑based teams work in‑person at least 3 days per week. On‑site roles require full‑time presence 5 days per week. Field roles are outside the company’s main facilities.

Compensation and BenefitsPay range: $99,000 to $158,000 per year (MA).
Possible additional compensation: annual incentive bonus, sales commission, long‑term incentives.

Additional Information- US work authorization is a precondition of employment; no sponsorship will be considered.
